Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why have a third party that's separate from the two "major" parties?
A: It is clear that the American people cannot be divided into two, distinctly different categories when it comes to ideology: there are more than two sides to every issue, and it's very rare for a person to agree with every policy for which a party stands. Therefore, we believe that it is a necessity that we have more than two major parties running candidates for office. We aim to provide more options on the ballot so that the people can vote for candidates they believe in rather than the lesser of two evils.
For more information about how we differ from other political parties, please see our "Comparing Parties" page.
Q: Why should I vote for Green Party candidates specifically?
A: We believe that there are many reasons to vote Green. First of all, the Green Party does not accept corporate contributions, ensuring that our candidates will serve you, the people, rather than corporate interests. We also put more value in protecting the environment than other parties do, which is a necessity, since humankind needs to do everything it can to stop climate change in order to survive. We pride ourselves on advocating for social justice and worker's rights, and we believe that equality is a necessity. These are just a few reasons why you should vote Green!
