Bill Clyde Receives Green Party Endorsement for 2nd Congressional District Race
Dr. Bill Clyde, a resident of Madison, CT, was endorsed on Saturday, August 9th, 2014, by the Green Party of Connecticut to run for the 2nd District U.S. House of Representatives Seat against Joe Courtney. The Green Party has run a candidate for the position the past three election cycles in 2008, 2010, and 2012. The past candidates have earned enough votes to allow the Green Party to have ballot access for the position, and Bill hopes to make people look beyond the Democratic and Republican parties that hold the country in constant gridlock.
Dr. Clyde is new to the political arena, and believes he would bring a fresh outlook and mindset to Washington. Bill went to Edinburgh University in Scotland for his PhD in economics. He also holds a master’s degree in chemistry from New York University, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and economics from DePauw University, and currently works as a provost and as a professor of economics and finance. Being an administrator, he has a record of problem solving, consensus building, and culture change. At the nominating convention on Saturday, Bill outlined some of the main points he wishes to focus on throughout his campaign, which included Campaign Finance Reform and reforming the current Healthcare system to provide better aid to all.
